Organizing Revolution...Challenge 1: Office

So I decided to participate in my my first organizing challenge...I've been sitting around wishing my home were more organized as I spent hours surfing the web for inspiration which included hours logged on Pinterest.

Before
After

When I get the email from A Bowl Full of Lemons announcing the New Year's Organizing Revolution, I decided to get off my butt and participate.

The first of the challenge is the office.  This has always been an area I let get cluttered ...even at work, I just seem to work better when papers are everywhere.

This is my little corner nook in the "Party Room".  While it isn't the worst there is (or has been, see below) it definitely needed some help.  So I spent a few hours on New Year's Eve  organizing, decluttering, and cleaning.

The files in the lateral cabinet are pretty organized, so I left those alone, but on top of the cabinet is a mess...  I want to keep that clear to do my weekly GTD reviews, filofax in hand..er...on desk.

The black and white box is my tickler file that I'm working diligently at keeping up with.  I think I've worked out a system that will help me eliminate the paperwork on the desk.  I am one of those "out of sight, out of mind" gals...but with the right mapping (next action lists in filofax), I think I'll be alright.

.....and I'm including one more picture from 3 years ago to show the true before picture.   Um, yes.....I'm pleased with the improvement!

thanks for stopping by!

I really like your black and white and turquoise colors. I am not naturally organized but seeing all of these beautifully organized homes on Pinterest gives me motivation to try harder. I also entered the Organize Your Home Challenge and found the link to your post on A Bowl Full of Lemons.
